Last weekend, B & I spent a couple of hours at the Spencer-Peirce-Little Farm. It's a Colonial farm, located on 230 acres of land, which is now open to the public as a museum. Nature walks, events, and lectures are also held at the Farm throughout the year.
B and I didn't visit the museum, but we spent some time walking around the grounds and fell in love with the gorgeous farm house - circa 1690!Best of all, the Spencer-Peirce-Little Farm also fosters farm animals, many of whom were previously abused or neglected, in partnership with the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. As you probably already know, I'm a huge animal lover and proponent of animal rights, so it warmed my heart to see these animals so happy and well taken care of now.B and I fell especially in love with this little barn cat, Amos. We played with him for about a half hour. One of the employees approached us and said she was surprised Amos was being so friendly because he had been badly abused before coming to the farm, and he's "very choosy" when it comes to people. Obviously Amos could sense that we're cat lovers. The Spencer-Peirce-Little Farm is one of those places I can see us returning to again and again. Next time, I hope we'll be able to enjoy the museum! If you're in the area, you should definitely visit too.
